Archives vol.1 - December 2002

 <itunes:subtitle>Housevisits podcast episode #005</itunes:subtitle>
 <itunes:summary> Some time ago I had a look at my music project archive on my hard drive. I was pretty amazed how many tracks I had there. Of course, not all of them are finished, and quite many of them are just very early ideas, but there really are dozens and dozens of them, and that the oldest ones are more than ten years old. It's pretty to imagine how many tracks I've been able to work on in relatively short time.

The same kind of early enthuasism can be seen with the amount of mixtapes I've done back in the days. While nowadays I tend to concentrate mostly on just listening the music I buy, I've earlier been quite keen on recording my sets. I guess it's quite natural evolution in DJing. There's not much more to learn about playing the records, but there is always more music waiting to be listened. Or it's just me being lazy. Who knows.

Anyway, this episode of Housevisits podcast is a mixtape dating back to December 2002 - that's more than seven years ago. I think it has been the time when I started getting interested in deeper side of House music. The mix is a blend of deep, melancholic and groovy house track from the early nilties. Some of the tracks are quite timeless and I find them being in my record bag over and over again. For example, Fields Of Grass by Jori Hulkkonen & Alexi Delano, taken from Duets 1 EP, is one of my all time favourites. Have a listen.

Bisoke Express

 <itunes:subtitle>Housevisits podcast episode #003</itunes:subtitle>
 <itunes:summary> November's here and so is our monthly podcast. It's time to overcome the depressive feelings the darkness and the cold weather certainly brings and head for the south. Lately I've been feeling African-flavoured deep house music. Those irresistible percussions, hypnotizing keys and cool vocal chants makes it really special. So much good music is coming out that it's hard to keep up. Franck Roger, Blackcoffee and Culoe De Song have made it clear that afro deep house is no passing thing. Watch out for more from the names like Abicah Soul, Ezel, Mzee, Boddhi Satva and not to forget the all-time favourites Osunlade and Joe Claussell. This mixtape takes us deep into the wild. Jump on the Bisoke Express! 100 % vinyl. Ykskaks </itunes:summary>

Soulful Stories vol. 1 - Time to stop for a moment

 <itunes:subtitle>Housevisits podcast episode #001</itunes:subtitle>
 <itunes:summary>
 Do you know that feeling when everything is crashing down? Just when you thouhgt things were fine, everything falls apart...

 That feeling is called life. It's not always living in the lap of luxury in a paradise. There will be happy moments and sad moments as well. Those sad moments can be excruciating, melancholic, wistful, or even bittersweet, but they won't last forever. When things are looking bad, just stop for a moment and wait. Whether it be the next day, weeks or even months later, you'll be standing on your feet again.

 That feeling is like a rainy day ending with the clouds rolling back, revealing a beautiful shine of the setting sun.

 That feeling is hard to describe with words, so why not to try with music instead.

Autumn Feeling

 <itunes:subtitle>Housevisits podcast episode #002</itunes:subtitle>
 <itunes:summary>
Autumn is a difficult season in Finland. Days are getting shorter, nights are getting longer... Weather gets colder day by day and leafs are falling down. Only memories from warm summer days are left. The only way to get through this season is to listen to music, drink good wines and hang out with good friends.

In this episode I have selected tracks that have a feeling of autumn in them. Hope you enjoy it!
